Haiku is one of the most important forms of traditional Japanese poetry. Haiku is, today, a 17-syllable verse form consisting of three metrical units of 5, 7, and 5 syllables.
I have taken a few poetic liberties in my prayer for Japan.
The Ides of March, Hiroshige on the wall, We watch the tv.
Helpless to assist, We watch updates on Sky, And turn to our God.
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon, and if there is no room upon the hill, And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.
